 Not puddle resistant let alone water resistant August 16, 2010

I bought this watch to take on holiday for a fortnight as my other watch gave up the ghost. This looked the part and is a robust if simple bit of kit. However, on its first contact with water, it leaked and stopped working immediately, leaving me for fourteen days without a timepiece and very annoyed.
Build quality? 0/10
Pass/Fail? Fail
Would I buy another Timex watch based on this experience? Absolutely not.

Purchased as the closest replacement of my Timex 1440. On the whole it is a good watch however I do find the back light awkward to operate ie right hand over the face to reach the light button on the left edge, (at 10 oclock and not easily seen in the watches photograph) as opposed the the 1440 which was operated from a button at 6 oclock below the watch face. Expecting continued accurate time keeping, I zeroed in the time on arrival but have noticed that in the year that I have had the 291 it has, second by second lost time until now it is almost a minute slow. Weak / Aged battery possibly?? Lengthy period in stock?? Would appreciate any feedback that might be available. Many thanks.

I can't coment on the lap time stuff. I bought this because I wanted a cheap watch for work where it could get bashed. The display is really big and clear, very nice indeed! The light is really cool! The numbers shine orange. There's a clever thing going on with the strap too that makes sure it never comes loose. Very happy.

This watch is no good to me what so ever it doesn`t do what I need it to, I think info about what it actually does should have been better. Wish I had never bought it.

I have had the watch for a few weeks now and it works beautifully.
Display is very clear, even underwater.
The functions are simple to use and work very well.
It is light weight as well as robust.
